Ozmosis 1749 Flashing Question [English]

  • Hi guys!

I decided to re-flash Ozmosis, because the BIOS setup got frozen a couple of times, and I want to make sure everything works fine before I install El Cap. However, I don't have a dedicated GFX card anymore, only HD4000. My question is, with a freshly flashed Ozmosis, will I get picture from the screen, to setup the BIOS, without a GFX card? I guess the answer should be yes, I just want to make it sure.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I thought I keep Ozmosis, in case it is going to be updated. Also, aren't there any data left, El Captain can use from Ozmosis?

  • I read about it... Anyway, hope dies last.
Anyhow, is there any advantage of keeping Ozmosis? I've read in a guide, that the system still can use some data from it, is that so?

  • You can use Ozmosis with El Capitan. But there are one step more to do as with Yosemite. You must install Clover to your El Capitan Installer and put the needed Kexts (FakeSMC for example) into /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.11. After Installation your 1st boot to your new system you must use Clover from your Installer Partition (or USB-Stick) again. Install the extra Kexts in /S/L/E with KextWizzard on your new system. Before you do this you have to disable SIP. You can do it this way in Terminal:

    Code
    1. sudo nvram 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:csr-active-config=%67%00%00%00

Reboot, install the Kexts with the Wizzard, repair permissions, rebuild Kext-Cache. Than in Terminal activate SIP again

    Code
    1. sudo nvram 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82:csr-active-config=%00%00%00%00

    and reboot.

Now you can use El Capitan with Ozmosis. I did it last weekend on my Hack. No Problems so far.

  • Thanks for the input, I re-flashed Ozmosis and I managed to install 10.11, but there are some weirdness going on, that I don't really understand: http://hackintosh-forum.de/ind…age=Thread&threadID=23838
