  • Hi and welcome to the forum...

Please add your hardware details either in your signature or in your profile, in the section "About me".

Did you deactivate Secure Boot in your BIOS?
How did you create the install USB-stick?
    What Bootloader are you using?

  • First of all you should know that you can install OS X only using the legacy-mode in BIOS.
You can't install OS X because Lenovo has installed some restrictions into the BIOS of Lenovo-Notebooks.

You have to use the following bios-settings otherwise it will not work:

Lenovo uses the InsydeHD20 Setup Utility. You get into the BIOS pressing the buttons
"FN" plus "F2" together when you start the computer to get access to the BIOS.

Please change the BIOS-settings as follows:

    Under configuration:

Wireless LAN (disabled) in case you have an INTEL WIFI+BT-Combo Card
Intel Cards are not supported, you have to use USB-dongles or change the installed WIFI+BT-Combo-Card. Informations about the allowed components are given in the "Repair and Maintenance Manual" which you can download from the support-forum of Lenovo. Take a look at the appropriate components und you will find the FRU-numbers. The components
with the FRU-numbers on the list are the only components which will work together with the BIOS of the Lenovo-notebook.

Bluetooth will not work, if you have an INTEL Card.

Graphic Device "UMA-Graphic" in case you have a dedicated graphics card

    Under Security:
    Secure Boot "disabled"

    Under Boot:
    Boot Mode Legacy Support
    Boot Priority Legacy First
    USB Boot Enabled
    PXE Boot to LAN disabled

After the first 4 settings you will find the boot sequence for the EFI-mode and the Legacy-Mode. For the installation of OS X the boot sequence for the legacy-mode must show the following settings:

    1. USB (your installer stick) sometimes shown as USB-HDD
    2. HDD/SDD

I assume that you have an existing installation on the HDD/SSD. In this case the HDD/SSD is not shown because the USB-Installerstick can not recognize the build in HDD/SSD at this stage.

Please save the settings and reboot the computer again pressing the "FN + F2" buttons.

Go to the Boot-Menue and change the settings. This time the HDD and the USB-stick will be
recognized as mentioned above. Now be sure that the boot sequence for the legacy-mode is the same as described above. Save the results and now you kann proceed with the installation of OS X. This computer will work very well together with Yosemite or El Capitan. In Yosemite you use a patch to make the Intel HD5500 running under OS X with full performance. In El Capitan you have only to use Intel inject and the device ID in the settings of Clover.

    Good luck.

You can see detailed instructions about the installation process of OS X on the website http://www.osxlatitude.com. They have several instructions for similar notebooks.

  • i have a black screen after boot legacy
    ufe boot clover up
I did everything according to the guide
    What am I doing wrong?

  • Maybe something is missing. Please check if you have installed Clover in legacy mode.

Please start Clover in the verbose mode. You have to use the boot flag -v. Then make a screenshot before the computer starts again and post in this forum. We will find a solution.

  • In some models there is a bug in the BIOS of Lenovo notebooks. You should ensure that the boot sequence in the EFI-mode is the same as it is shown in the legacy-mode.

Don't forget to save the changes.

If you have an access to an original iMac or Macbook Pro you should use the app Diskmaker X to create an USB-stick with OS X El Capitan.

This action will last 15 to 20 minutes.

After that you have to install clover on the installer stick using the legacy mode.

After you have installed Clover on the installer for the legacy-mode on the installer-stick you should replace the complete files/directories in you EFI-directory on the EFI-Partition.

I highly recommend that you download the bootloader app Clover, Clover Configurator and EFI-Mounter from this forum. Diskmaker X can be downloaded from this forum too.

For a first installation of OS X it is very useful to install it on an external HDD/SSD if you have one. This means that you can work with your existing installation of Windows and you can test OS X on the external HDD/SSD until everything works.

The terminal command: diskutil list show you the different drives.

Replace the following files in your EFI-directory on the EFI-Partition with the attached ones:

    - replace your config.plist
    - in the CLOVER/Kexts directory put in the other.zip and unzip it. No other kexts should be
in subdirectories like 10.10. or 10.11.
    - copy the patches to the Clover/ACPI/patched directory and unzip it.

The only thing you have to do after the installation of OS X to patch the Apple HDA and configure the notebook for LAN.

Good luck and kind regards to Israel.

  • Thanks I don't have mac and I trying again and change settings and I have same problem
    1. Black screen in legacy
2.efi up but not see the hard disk.

I think I need go and buy mac or you have is a solution to my problem ?

  • In this case you should know that you have to buy the Snow Leopard Retail DVD from the Apple store for license reasons. You will get only support in this forum, when you have a license for the usage of OS X on one computer.

You can't install OS X directly on a computer which runs Windows. The only possible method to convert a laptop running Windows is to install a virtual machine on your windows computer with Snow Leopard OS X 10.6. When you have installed a virtual machine running Snow Leopard you can upgrade free of charge to OS X El Capitan 10.11. This is the way it works.

You can find several instructions for installing Snow Leopard in a virtual machine.

The only possible boot loader is Clover with a great compatibility for OS X 10.10 Yosemite or OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Chimera an alternative boot loader has only support to OS X 10.9.

Please come back when you have a Snow Leopard DVD from the Apple Store.
