Messages application opens and closes

    Depends on what you did before this happened and what the exact error message reads like but most likely the message database files are corrupt. Open up terminal and use this commands and see if it fixes your issue:

    Code
    1. cd ~/Library/Caches/
    2. rm -R com.apple.Messages*
    3. rm -R com.apple.imfoundation*
    4. cd ~/Library/Preferences/
    5. rm com.apple.iChat*
    6. rm com.apple.imagent*
    7. rm com.apple.imessage*
    8. rm com.apple.imservice*
    9. rm -R ~/Library/Messages/

    If you deleted the files I mentioned above it´s normal that it rebuilds it´s Databases the next Time you start it...
    This Process may take some time to finish but it should work afterwards...
