Heyy bro, i have downloaded your OpenCore EFI for my Dell Latitude e6420

I used Transmac to write macOS High Sierra into my usb, and copied your opencore EFI

but when i try to boot, it keeps stopping from here (photo attached) and then the stop sign appears (scrambled)

So i wonder if you're planning to upload your Clover EFI?

Opencore didn't work for me so... maybe Clover will work?

And can you show your BIOS settings?

use the old efi opencore or clover because the last one is for macos big sur and monterey

I have installed Catalina with the "old EFI" you linked in.

And it works great!! Stable as expected!

But if we can make the graphics memory more than 4mb that would be awesome!

Heyy i have successfully have graphics working on Catalina with over 300MB Vram now

- First i completely disable SIP (with opencore NVRAM config, clear Nvram in opencore boot menu after changes) (and remember to change bios settings to uefi boot because reset nvram resets this setting)

this way of disabling SIP is from opencore official guide and it doesn't require booting into recovery

- then i download the legacy video patch: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tDwOXUftXgsf4CQGR1dHvcOun5JsO0a3/view?usp=sharing

- just run the pkg and install it, reboot and i now have 384mb vram

Hi Mo-6420, thanks for your guide to install mac on E6420. I have E6420 with Intel and having trouble installing Catalina.

I have partitioned my (only one HDD) to GUID with 4 partitions (two APFS and two FAT). Before installing mac, I checked the SIP thru installation disk terminal (by command csrutil status) and it is disabled. Installing Catalina from USB does not have any issue/error, unless at the end it cannot set the startup disk. Also after Installation and initial setup complete, the clover installation also fails. I can run the mac only by using the USB installer disc.

I copied the your OC and EFI folder to one of the FAT partition and set the BIOS with new UFI boot entry as per your instruction. Booting thru OC the mac is stuck at apple logo.

I reinstalled the mac three times (including one time by re-partition/erase the disk) but the same result. Also I have observed that after installation, the mac partition is read only (that i have to make write enable by commands spctl --master-disable, mount -uw / , killall Finder).

I hope you can help to up and running mac on E6420.

ok so this is my problem, OC doesnt boot at all, so i setup the UEFI boot in bios and choose the OC boot file, but OC doesnt boot i just get a black screen, it doesnt even load to the OC screen, i am on the latest BIOS and OC its just not loading for me, i tried seting it up on a partition formated fat32, and i also tried puting it on the EFI partition and the USB EFI aswell, but i always get black screen and not loading for me.

Thanks for sharing your clover working files. Can I use with Catalina or I need to install Monterey and then use it? Also I need only EFI folder or need other file/folder that is in attached file? Excuse me for bugging with nub questions.

I need help.

I am trying to install monterey 12.01. The usb installer boots fine (with one of your Clover EFI folder) and can come to setup/installation steps. However the installation hangs (as per attached picture) after copying all files.

Any suggestion/help please.

Thanks, you are correct. I was using hackintosh usb installer. I used the unpatched apple monterey install app usb installer. It installed and after reboot (completing the initial setup), it gave an error "A required firmware update could not be installed".
