Kleiner leiser Tower

  • Hallo zusammen,

    - 4x 4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Crucial Ballistix

    - NVIDIA GeForce GTX770 2GB (Gigabyte Winforce OC)

    - Fenvi T191 WLAN & BT

    - Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 1TB NVMe (Boot)

    - Samsung 869 Evo M.2 1TB AHCI (Work)

    - 4x Crucial MX500 1TB Sata (Datengrab)

    - Apple Super Multi DVD Brenner Sata

    - BeQuiet Silent Loop 2 120mm

    - BeQuiet Straight Power 11

  • I am using same motherboard but different processor so I have tried your configuration but didn't get success.

I am installing Big Sur on this configuration.

Do you please help me what thing do I need to change as per my below configuration

    1) Processor Core i7 4770K

    2) 2x CMZ16GX3M2A1866C10 16GB(8GB x2) DDR3 Ram (Insert into DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2 Slot)
    3) 3x Sata HDD (This all three is only for backup)

    4) Intel 750 Series NVME inserted in PCIEX16_1 Slot (Use this for install macOS)

    5) Gigabyte AMD Radeon Rx590 8GB graphics card in PCIEX16_2 Slot

I have tried myself by reading opencore Dortania guide but didn't get success

I also downloaded your EFI and generate SMbios but didn't get success.

So do you please help me to what to change for my above configuration for proper installation

My log file is also attached

  • Ok so I installed Big Sur just for fun and directly after install I deleted it and installed Sierra again.

So I did not have any experience with Big Sur.

But as I can see in your config.plist file there are a few things you should change:

    1) Delete the Devices in "DeviceProberties -> Add". You don't need them to just start or install Big Sur.

    2) "Kernel -> Add": Lilu.kext should be the first in the list, VirtualSMC.kext should be the second.

    3) You could try to change "Misc -> Security -> SecureBootModel" from "Default" to "Disabled"

    4) I did not see "Whatevergreen.kext" in your "Kernel -> Add" list. But since you have an AMD GPU the kext should be there

    5) you should add at least "-v" to "NVRAM -> 7C436110-AB............ -> boot-args"

I think there are a few other options to change to be able to boot Big Sur with this configuration but I don't know exactly

which one. But the right options should be explained at Dortanias Guide.

A good way to test the configuration is this Open Core Sanity Checker Tool. It's for OC 0.6.6 but I don't care and even

test my 0.8.1 config.plist with it - it should be fine I guess.

Another thing is your SSD. I think this Motherboard can not boot directly from NVMe.

I have modified my BIOS to achive this function.

Also it could be a problem if you are using my EFI folder with another BIOS version than me.

To be honest I don't beleve that but a few people would say that you should check that your BIOS is the same Version than mine.

That's a few guesses from me which you can try. But I am no Big Sur expert. If you can't boot you should open an extra Thread on that topic.

Oh yeah an I see that in your opencore log file:

    Zitat

    00:000 00:000 AAPL: #[EB.H.IS|!] Err(0xE) <- RT.GV boot-signature 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82

    00:011 00:011 AAPL: #[EB.H.IS|!] Err(0xE) <- RT.GV boot-image-key 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82

signature and key stuff... I don't know but this security signature crap could mean there is something wrong with your Big Sur Install stick I believe.

  • I have changed os to High Sierra form Big Sur

I am using bios form following link https://www.win-raid.com/t5547…ios-UEFI-v-full-mods.html

I already installed windows 10 on NVME and it works fine.

If you have any latest bios then please send it to me.

I make all changes that you have suggested. little more installed at this time approx. 40% then it stopped.

Please check attached log and Config

  • hello LocalCrack ,

i am sure you are able to use your pc, the current and latest bios is the build you can get from asus or the modded one from winraid with added nvme driver, you are able to update the bios by yourself, using the ubu even from winraid, so the changes are minimalistic to the current one.

minimal changes in the network drivers, the others are uptodate so far

    lg :)

  • hello @apfel-baum

The bios from asus site is not latest it doesn't support NVME protocol so I have modded my bios my self and added NVME module.

without NVME module bios will boot form NVME but not provide full speed. I am only getting 600 MB/s MAX.

After adding NVME module I got full speed of NVME 3345 MB/s.

    I never tried ubu tool.

  • The BIOS Version you are running (2103) is fine. It is the same as mine.

As I understand you are now trying to install High Sierra and it stops installing at around 40% of the installation?

I have looked at your config.plist and it looks fine to me. Maybe in "Kernel -> Quirks -> AppleXcpmCfgLock" you could it set to "false"

because I think on this Motherboard it is possible to disable CFG Lock in the BIOS. But I can't check it at the moment because I have

    no access to this PC.

But it could also be enabled. It shouldn't have to do something with the Install Process. The Rest of the config.plist looks good to me.

From the log file I can't read very much information because I don't know what the information means xD.

Your Hardware looks fine and I think you should be able to install High Sierra with this config.plist.

Maybe there is a Problem specific with the Intel SSD but I really don't know if this is even a problem.

Maybe you could try to unplug everything from the PC (other Hard Drives, Optical Drives, Expansion Cards like USB3.0 and so on)

and just try to install with the only display, mouse and keyboard and network connected.

If it doesn't work you should open a seperate Thread. I am no expert so I have no Ideas why it stops at around 40%.
