Alles anzeigenJust because you set PEG as primary display output it doesnt disable the iGPU!
Its just using your PCIe card for the output!
AVX?
Its absolutely not related to GPU in any kind. AVX is related to CPU

Time to make things clear...
As already mentioned by me here the user @trueadm posted in the thread of Klaus ( kgp-imacpro ) that the VII only runs when the IGPU is enabled in the bios.
The whole thing didn't leave me any peace today and I wanted to know it exactly, so I set up a small test setup.
Since I was missing a CPU cooler, I had to improvise a little, as you can easily see.
Don't worry all parts live and CPU was kept constant at 53/54 degrees
What turned out now ?
Yes, the card has acceleration when you edit the kext but ONLY!! :
if...
a) the IGPU is active or
b) basically there is a helper card in it
If both are not available then the behavior already determined by kgp-imacpro or myself ends in the black screen mentioned.
I have found some interesting things with these cards.
I could get 14.4 ver 3 to work with 2x VIIs, now I have it with one card and no IGPU. If it was as you say that my IGPU was somehow active I would not get similar results to you in 10.14.4 beta 3. My results are very different in 10.14.4 beta 2.
test 1. Single card HDMI boot to black screen with cursor in a small square.
test 2. Dual cards card one HDMI slot 1, card 2 DisplayPort. card 1 boots t black screen but has small screen with distortions (see pic) card 2 boots to Mojave normal use.
test3. Boot again and then switch card one HDMI port to diplayports for testing. DisplayPort next to HDMI works. DisplayPort on card 2 works.
test 4. pull power from card 2 and boot with card 1. Boots normally I'm writing from it now.
Possible fix for you test DisplayPort next to HDMI port.
Remember, I have IGPU disabled and have the same black screen issue as you but I may have solved it for 14.4 beta 3.
Without card 2 I get black screen unless plugged into DisplayPort next to HDMI. This could be a frame buffer assignment issue that affects beta 3 because there is no issue in 10.14.4 beta 2. I only had one card when I successfully tested that version and I still have the disk and confirmed it still works on single card with all ports.
