So far almost all is good, sleep does not work perfectly, it goes to sleep but then wakes up with Wake reason: XDCI.
It's recommended to just disable sleep. It works more stable if you just shutdown it from time to time.

Thanks, I figured it out by myself already. I just mapped the USB ports, trackpad and touchscreen both work. And even sleep without actually fixing it deliberately!
The last two issues I'm tackling right now is the missing sound (which alcid is it actually?) and the temporary black screen on the internal display. It is even not recognized to be internal. That's weird!
So I'm running latest Big Sur and OCv0.6.6 with a strange side effect it shows it's v0.6.3. Silly!
It's a config for 4K internal screen.Do you have it? I have and 0 problem with this config. Sound yes, it's a problem now. We should somehow report our id's to opencore devs.
For which MacOS version is this EFI intended? I can't boot Mojave or Big Sur with it. It is probably OCv0.5.8. What about updates?
Please try this https://github.com/Lockzi/macO…700-Catalina/tree/Big-Sur
how well does the XPS17 work With MacOs?
How does battery life looks like?
What functions / features do not work? (Sleep / awake, brightness, wifi etc?)
For now Sleep doesn't work at all, wifi not very stable. Major issue is problem with sound from built-in speakers, it doesn't work.
Alles anzeigenHi! Had a couple of questions as I'm considering this particular laptop
(Dell XPS 17 9700 i7-10875H NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 2060 6GB 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe)
and turn it into a triple-boot hackintosh.
It is in a higher price range, my budget is just enough for it and therefore I want to protect myself with the following questions:
The tutorial from "vivandi" is exactly what I was looking for. Great work! Thank you for that first.
To 4. (dual boot with Win10).
1) Would a triple boot with MacOs , Windows and a Linux -Distro (e.g. Ubuntu) be possible without further ado (e.g. create additional partitions in the disc utility)?
2) Does the touchscreen work immediately after installation in MacOS or are there any additional settings or kexts or something similar?
3.) Do you now need another special WiFi card (e.g. DW 1830/1560) or is that no longer necessary so that the onboard WiFi card works out-of-the-box?

Thanks in advance to everyone who is involved in this topic!
1) My suggestions is install macOS on second ssd(xps 15 and 17 have two m.2 slots) and on another you can safely use native win and linux without problem.
2) As I know additional kexts need.
3) Look at wifi kexts in Vivandi tutorial, built in wifi and bt should work with this.

Tutorial
Dual boot with Windows 10
1. Create macOS using Appstore or BootDiskUtility
2. Copy the OpenCore bootloader to the USB stick if necessary
2a.) The OpenCore Configurator is used under macOS
2b.) Under Windows you need ext2fsd: http://www.ext2fsd.com/ and Explorer ++: https://explorerplusplus.com/ Install Ext2fsd, find the Fat32 EFI partition on the USB stick. Then open Explorer ++ as Admin and copy the EFI to the EFI partition.
3. Make the following settings in Bios:
Sercure boot disabled
Sata Mode to Ahci
4. Press F12 for macOS Installer
5. Install macOS
6. Then Postinstall
1. OpenCore configurator
2. Wifi Kexte if Intel then https://www.sl-soft.de/kext-updater
if Broadcom is built into the EFI!
3. Intel Wifi card is entered in config with OpenCore.
4. Only those who want to do the dual boot with Windows
4a.) Open the macOS disk utility and create a new partition
Name Windows 10
MacOS extended journaled format
Scheme GUID partition
4b.) Restart and insert the Windows 10 USB stick
4c.) Important it must be automatically recognized by OpenCore
4d.) Delete the partition that you created in macOS. Install
4f. Install all drivers also set the NVIDIA drivers and OpenCore to standard.
Have fun

Thanks pal! How do you think, it's suitable with Big Sur? I wanna try at the end of September.
What about the build?
I'm also thinking of buying a Dell XPS 17 and now I can't see exactly whether it works. And if it does what works and what doesn't, would you recommend the laptop to me?
Main problem it's a wifi card. It's soldered and I can't see for now any proofs what it can works with some kexts in macos.
Hello test the EFI. It goes with me !!
Hello! How it's going? I have the exact specs machine and I wonder if anyone have successfully launch macos already and figure out what to do with networking.
