I think VoodooPS2Controller is only used for keyboard (trackpad/mouse does not work at all with it), as it is I2C Trackpad, so would be VoodooI2C, as per this

but latest version 2.6.5 does not help either

There is no "problem". It was stated (and I missed it!) -

Trackpad: VoodooI2C.kext, Pollingmodus mit DeviceProperty "force-polling -boolean yes" erzwingen. rechte Taste ohne Funktion, Trackpoint und zugehörige Tasten ebenfalls ohne Funktion.

trackpoint and associated buttons also without function.

And which thread would that be?

Almost everything works, but not a single trackpad button works for click

Button (left) seems to work only for window click-hold drag

Anybody any idea how to fix it?

I can either use external mouse, or single-click on trackpad (but that jumps too erratic to be usable)

OK.

Swapped NVMe from original

Dell Micron 2200 256Gb (MTFDHBA256TCK, Dell PN 0CH8J1)

to

Silicon Power 256GB NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 TLC SSD Model A80 SU256GBP34A80M28AB

and it booted to recovery USB fine. Catalina 10.15.7 also boots fine
